Job description Arable Farm Manager Reports to: Managing Director Role Type: Full Time Remuneration: €45,000 - €50,000 Location: Ballyneety Co Limerick About Master Chefs Master Chefs are seeking to recruit a Head Gardener/Farm Manager for our new start up organic farm business. Master Chefs is an events and contract catering company and our key focus has always been the quality of the produce that we use. Our new venture is creating an organic “farm to fork” supply chain. We have recently purchased a 20 acre farm with the intention of establishing an organic horticultural production business. The core aspect of the project will be to grow and supply excellent quality produce to our catering business. In the future an additional part of the project will be to educate people on sustainable food production within supply chains. Key Responsibilities Must be familiar with crop planning, cultivation and harvesting techniques to meet quality specifications Ability to work flexibly depending on weather and seasons Willing to work outside in a variety of weather conditions Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate will believe in GIY’s vision, share GIY’s values and have the following qualifications and experience: The suitable candidate will have 5 years’ experience growing field scale vegetables organically Experience in the operation and basic maintenance of a tractor & other farm machinery Ability to work independently Full, clean driving license Ability to work flexibly depending on weather and seasons Application Process Please forward CV & Cover letter to hr@masterchefs.ie.
